We’ve seen some breakout seasons by backup running backs in recent years. These players are becoming more valuable on the waiver wire, and fantasy football managers should take note for their teams this season.
The “fantasy football handcuff rankings” are an important part of fantasy football. These rankings will help you identify players that can be used as a backup to your starters. The “Year of the Backup RBs has fantasy football managers reaping rewards.”
Every year, there are a few important running back injuries in fantasy football. Managers who possess or acquire that crucial backup are more likely to win the league. The year 2021 will be unique. It has worsened that problem to a degree that has seldom been seen before, but in a new manner. The top tailbacks haven’t suffered many season-ending injuries, but they’ve all missed a few weeks here and there. Fantasy owners that are active in waivers and in-season management have dominated as a result.
There was more major fantasy football news heading into Week 11 of the NFL season, which got fantasy football managers scurrying to see if anybody was available. Alvin Kamara was ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this week.
RB for the Saints Alvin Kamara will not play against the Eagles on Sunday. Mark Ingram is about to take the field for the second time.
November 19, 2021 — Field Yates (@FieldYates)
Mark Ingram is clearly already owned in almost every fantasy football league. Last week, he stepped in for Kamara and dominated, racking up over 100 yards from scrimmage, four receptions, and a running score. There’s no reason to believe he won’t do it this week.
What about the 49ers from San Francisco? In Week 1, starting tailback Raheem Mostert went down with a season-ending injury. Elijah Mitchell, a rookie, was given a chance as a result of this. People who picked him up were ecstatic since they got an RB2 for nothing. After fracturing a finger, he was merely labeled as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars.
On Sunday, Elijah Mitchell was officially labeled as DOUBTFUL for SF. Hasty is no longer an option. Jeff Wilson Jr. would likely get the start, and Trey Sermon may make an appearance.
November 19, 2021 — Matthew Berry (@MatthewBerryTMR)
Jeff Wilson Jr., unlike Ingram, is available in the great majority of leagues. Thankfully, I found out about the finger problem Monday night and claimed him in three leagues a few days later. He has a chance to win the week.
Chris Carson is out for the season, according to the Seattle Seahawks, who confirmed it early Friday. Those who scooped up Alex Collins many weeks ago are pleased. Collins hasn’t been spectacular, but he’s a volume play and a low-end RB2/Flex option for the remainder of the season.
This season, stars like Christian McCaffrey and Saquon Barkley were sidelined for long periods of time. For over a month, Chuba Hubbard was a borderline RB1 while stepping in for McCaffrey.
Meanwhile, from weeks five through nine, Devontae Booker was an automatic play beside him. In PPR leagues, Booker averaged 16 fantasy points per game throughout that span.
Aaron Jones had a slight MCL strain last week. He’ll be gone for a week or so. While Jones is gone, AJ Dillon can easily fill in as an RB1.
AJ Dillon is ready to take on the challenge http://twitter.com/GtwGMMbhAG
November 15, 2021 — PFF Fantasy Football (@PFF Fantasy)
When Bears backup Khalil Herbert was injured in Week 5, he put up 20 PPR fantasy points in the following two weeks. More RB1 stats. Darrell Williams has been generating RB2 stats on a weekly basis since Kansas City Chiefs tailback Clyde Edwards-Helaire was injured in Week 5.
Who can forget Mr. D’Ernest Johnson, the finest of them all? He began the season as the Browns’ third-string quarterback. However, injuries to Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb forced him into action against the Broncos in Week 7. On his route to 24 fantasy points, he annihilated Denver for 146 yards running.
When Chubb returned, he went back to the bench for a few weeks. Then Chubb caught COVID-19, earning him a start against New England in Week 10. Fantasy managers who had discarded him in the previous several weeks were blaming themselves when he scored 23 fantasy points.
D’Ernest Johnson, good morning.
D’Ernest made a statement as he racked up 58 yards on the first touchdown drive.
Johnson made a statement while still battling for every yard in a fourth-quarter rout.

November 15, 2021 — Nick Karns (@karnsies817)
This season, the list goes on and on. There were a slew of others that came in for a single week and made an impact. Boston Scott, Rhamondre Stevenson, Boston Scott’s teammate Jordan Howard, and others. In truth, this season is about week winners rather than league winners.
All season long, fantasy football managers who have been aware, active, and observant have enjoyed the benefits. That seems to be a trend that will continue throughout the playoffs.

Losing is nothing new for the Detroit Lions. They’ve had their fair share of heartache. They’re no strangers to combining the two when it comes to Thanksgiving games.
No, the Lions’ 16-14 loss to the Chicago Bears isn’t shocking.
Still, it was a dreadful manner for the Lions to lose. The Lions have grabbed victory from the jaws of defeat more than any other team in professional sports history.
Despite the fact that it only counts as one defeat in the standings, this one seemed like a far bigger blow to Detroit.
This might have been Detroit’s best opportunity to win the game.

Consider the club that had the good fortune to host Thanksgiving this year in Detroit. The Bears were on a five-game losing run coming into the game, and there were whispers and predictions that head coach Matt Nagy would be fired following the game. With starter quarterback Justin Fields out, Nagy and the Bears turned to veteran Andy Dalton to carry the load (er, Turkey). Despite the fact that he’s been in the league for a long time, Dalton is clearly beyond his peak.
Going into this game, Chicago was a squad on the verge of collapse. A defeat to a 0-9-1 Lions squad would have effectively ended Nagy’s tenure, and the Bears would have struggled to recover in terms of team morale.
Given the storm that had descended on Chicago, this was Detroit’s best opportunity to win a game for the remainder of the season. The Lions were handed a victory on a silver platter, and they even had a one-point lead until the final seconds of the game.
Finally, the club got in its own way much too often and was unable to seal the door on Chicago.
In the end, the Lions were defeated by themselves.
Daniel Campbell, head coach of the Detroit Lions, takes the field during a game at Ford Field versus the Chicago Bears | Nic Antaya/Getty Images
Detroit was in a great position to earn its first victory of the season.
With 12:08 left in the fourth quarter with a one-point advantage, the Lions got the ball on their own 10-yard line. It was a chance to run down the time and increase the lead on the scoreboard.
The journey got off to a good start.
Jamaal Williams ran for 19 yards after catching a 15-yard pass from Josh Reynolds. A false start penalty on 2nd-and-7 from the Detroit 47 drove the Lions back five yards two plays later. Holding penalties on the next two plays pushed Detroit even farther behind.
The Lions were back on their own 22-yard line with a 2nd-and-32 situation after what seemed to be a promising drive. That drive concluded with a punt on 4th and 25 from the Lions’ 29 yard line, which was somewhat unsurprising.
Chicago regained possession of the ball on its own 21-yard line and went on a game-winning 18-play, 69-yard drive.
The Lions were penalized ten times for a total of minus 67 yards.
This was Detroit’s last opportunity to avert complete humiliation.
With a record of 0-10-1, the Lions are in danger of finishing winless for the second season in team history. The Lions are one of just two teams in NFL history to go 0-16, and they were the first to do it.
At this point, it’s more of a Detroit issue.
Ironically, their lone draw against the Pittsburgh Steelers will save them from being the first club in NFL history to go 0-17, but a 0-16-1 season is still looming.
Beating the Bears in the middle of a tumultuous week would have provided head coach Dan Campbell an opportunity to show that his bombastic coaching style can yield a victory at least once. Looking forward to the remainder of the season, there aren’t many more chances like this.
The Detroit Lions will face the Minnesota Vikings next. While the Vikings have been beatable on paper this season, they are coming off an upset victory against the Packers and may have reached a turning point. They can absolutely defeat the Lions if they can beat the Packers.
The Denver Broncos are another club that seems to be beatable, but this is a team that just blasted out the Cowboys in Dallas a few weeks ago. They can easily defeat the Lions if they can beat the Cowboys.
The final winnable game for the Lions seems to be against the Atlanta Falcons, although it will be on the road, and the Falcons have won four games this season despite their poor record.
That’s four more victories than the Lions, and therein lays the Lions’ terrible truth. The unpleasant fact is that, even when facing a club that should be poor, Detroit is always going to be worse.
This season, Detroit has mostly disproved the “any given Sunday” notion. In a league that stresses parity, even a bad club can usually eke out a victory or two. Even games against terrible teams are simple to foresee as losses looking forward, and Thanksgiving was Detroit’s best opportunity to stumble into that victory.
The Lions, in classic Lions form, blew it. In Detroit, it’s become as much of a Thanksgiving ritual as the turkey and stuffing.
ESPN and Pro Football Reference provided the statistics.

The Federal Communications Commission has approved AT&T’s TV divisions being spun off into a new entity called New DirecTV (FCC). Earlier this year, AT&T unveiled the plan, which includes AT&T TV, DirecTV, and U-verse. The announcement came with the customary caution that it was subject to approval. The FCC has finally given it the go light.
AT&T announced in February that it had reached an agreement with TPG Capital to form a new DirecTV firm. While AT&T will remain a substantial shareholder, the new firm will take over full management of AT&T’s video division, enabling AT&T to concentrate on its other business interests, such as 5G wireless, fiber, and HBO Max.
With the FCC’s approval of a transfer of license authority from AT&T to New DirecTV, those plans have gone a big step ahead. Furthermore, the FCC’s ruling is devoid of any cautions. According to the FCC ruling, there is no indication that the proposed transaction would have a negative impact on the market, and it is in the public interest to allow it.
AT&T said in the initial statement that users to any of its video services will not notice a significant change in their experience. In essence, AT&T guaranteed a “seamless customer transition” that lets consumers to preserve their current AT&T video plans and bundles, as well as any existing savings, when they transfer from AT&T video to New DirecTV.
However, there is the possibility of a name change.
While current users should not anticipate any changes to their experience, the service’s name is likely to change. This is to be anticipated, given that the service to which they are now subscribing will no longer be provided by AT&T. While the exact nature of the rebranding is unknown, it is probable that AT&T TV may become DirecTV Stream. The DirecTV Stream moniker has already been used on the AT&T TV website, as well as at least one third-party reseller, adding to the possibility.
It’s also unclear when current subscribers should anticipate the transition to take full effect, regardless of any modifications to the service’s name or branding. AT&T has previously claimed that the deal would not complete until the second half of 2021, a timeline that is now much closer to reality receiving the FCC’s approval.
FCC is the source of this information.
A diplomatic boycott of the Beijing 2022 Olympics is “something we’re exploring,” according to US President Joe Biden. On November 18, he made the comment during a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in the Oval Office of the White House.
The query elicited no answer from Trudeau. On November 17, CNN was informed by a White House source that Biden will not attend the games, which are set for February 4-20, 2022.
A diplomatic boycott of the Winter Olympics would bar US officials from attending the games, but athletes would still be able to compete, according to The Hill.
The International Olympic Committee has previously said that the Beijing Olympics will be available to Chinese visitors but not to tourists from other countries, according to CNN.
Pelosi is pushing for a boycott.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a Democratic Party leader, had indicated support for a diplomatic boycott in May, according to The Hill. According to the news source, she said that the United States should not behave “as if nothing is wrong with the Olympics moving to China.”
Cotton calls for a “total and complete boycott.”
At a news conference, Republican Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas said that the United States “should launch a full and comprehensive boycott of China’s genocidal Olympics.” “I hate that this would preclude nearly 300 of America’s world-class athletes from participating in the Olympics,” Cotton said in statements shared on Twitter. He said that Biden should have attempted to have the Olympics relocated to a location other than China.

In 1980, President Jimmy Carter was successful in preventing American athletes from competing in the Soviet Union’s Olympic Games.
According to Frédéric Mégret of McGill University in Canada, Carter’s boycott harmed American athletes more than it harmed the Soviet Union, according to the New York Times.
South Korean disappointment
According to Kwon Mee-yoo, writing in The Korea Times, the threat of a diplomatic boycott seemed to kill any hope of South Korean President Moon Jae-in achieving a durable peace on the Korean peninsula. According to Kwon, Moon had anticipated that the presence of heads of state and diplomats at the Olympics Games would allow for informal conversations, maybe leading to a peace accord.
Moon’s chances of reaching a deal before his successor’s election next year would be shattered by a diplomatic boycott, according to Kwon.
The Beijing Olympics are the subject of “an lively discussion.”
According to the New York Times, Canada’s and European nations’ governments were encouraged to boycott the games. According to the article, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that America and its partners have been debating how to deal with the issue. Blinken told the publication, “It’s a lively dialogue.”

The Dallas Cowboys are in the middle of a modest slump after opening the season with a 7-2 record. They were thrashed at home by the Denver Broncos two weeks ago, and they were defeated by the Kansas City Chiefs in a crucial Week 11 matchup.
The Cowboys are eager to get back on track as quickly as possible, with a Thanksgiving Day game against the Las Vegas Raiders looming. The Cowboys don’t want to open the door too wide for their division rival Philadelphia Eagles, who have quietly began rising up the NFC East rankings lately.
The Cowboys’ passing game has been critiqued by Ezekiel Elliott.
In a defeat against the Chiefs, the Cowboys produced just 276 yards of offense and failed to score a touchdown. We’ll do it again on Thursday, but without Amari Cooper (COVID-19) and CeeDee Lamb, most likely (concussion).
November 22, 2021 — Michael Gehlken (@GehlkenNFL)
Week 11’s defeat to the Cowboys was a disappointing day for the Dallas offense. Despite facing a weakened and inferior Chiefs defense, the Cowboys only managed to score nine points. They didn’t make it all the way to the end zone.
Against the Chiefs, the Cowboys’ normally strong passing offense was at the heart of their problems. Prescott only threw two interceptions while passing for 216 yards on 43 tries. Given the opponent and the stakes, it was perhaps Prescott’s worst game of the season.
Ezekiel Elliott, the Cowboys’ running back, didn’t hold back his anger after the defeat. To have a successful offense, he feels the Cowboys must return to running the ball.
“I believe that rushing the football is critical for us,” Elliott stated. “I believe it aids this attack.” When we can run the ball well, we’re a better football team. I believe it will be a point for us to get that run game going on Thursday.”
Elliott’s words were a covert dig at Dak Prescott.
Richard Rodriguez/Getty Images Dak Prescott #4 and Ezekiel Elliott #21
It was almost certainly unintended. However, Elliott’s remarks paint Prescott and the offense in a poor light. The offense was significantly more run-oriented early in Prescott’s and Elliott’s Cowboys careers. Elliott was seen to be the main motor, with Prescott filling in as a solid game manager.
The Cowboys’ offense, on the other hand, has grown more pass-heavy since Prescott established himself as an outstanding passer. Elliott is averaging just 15.1 carries per game this season, down from 9.1 in 2017.
“”””””””””””””””””””””””””””””X Elliott, on the other hand, makes a half-decent argument. Elliott just had nine carries against the Chiefs, which is an absurdly low quantity for someone with Elliott’s salary.
Will the Cowboys go for it on offense?
Dak Prescott, quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys: “We need to reclaim our identity, even if it’s simply by being physically there. Whether it’s the run game or protection, the line of scrimmage sets the tone.”
November 24, 2021 — Michael Gehlken (@GehlkenNFL)
The Cowboys’ approach may be tweaked somewhat as a result of Elliott’s vocal demand for more touches. However, it’s difficult to envision the squad straying too far from their present approach. They seem to be enamored with the concept of having a top-tier, pass-first attack.
Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb, and Michael Gallup are three of the best wide receivers in the league.
On Thanksgiving, the Cowboys face the Raiders with the goal of improving to 8-3. Only time will tell whether they attempt to do it by air or on land.
Pro Football Reference provided all stats.

AT&T TV customers who have an Apple TV, iOS, or Roku device will soon be able to stop and rewind live television. While this seems like a feature that most people would expect to have, AT&T TV customers didn’t have it. If they weren’t using the company’s own streaming player, that is.
Due to the absence of required gear or the requirement for specialists to install, services like AT&T TV make it easy to view live TV channels. While AT&T TV has a long list of compatible devices, it doesn’t mean the experience was the same on all of them. For example, AT&T TV’s own streaming player features the ability to pause and rewind live TV, although such functionality was mostly absent from other companies’ applications.
This looks to be changing now. Users have reported that the option to stop and rewind live TV has begun to go live during the last week. Roku users, in particular, have been reporting issues since earlier this week. The same complaints are also pouring in for users using Apple TV and iOS devices to access the service.
The user reports correspond to the most current app changes. The AT&T TV Apple TV and iOS applications, for example, were upgraded today (July 16). Unfortunately, the option to stop and rewind isn’t mentioned in the changelog, but the timing is unlikely to be a coincidence, so users should make sure the app is up to date to have access to the better playback controls. For reference, the newest update also enhances Siri search, according to the changelog.
A better user experience in advance of a rebrand?
Pausing and rewinding live TV videos is likely to be a very handy function, and one that many AT&T TV customers have been requesting for quite some time. While AT&T has previously focused the functionality on its own devices, the addition of Apple TV, iOS, and Roku devices will assist to bring the experience on third-party devices more in line.
There have been recent hints that the company may be rebranding shortly. With AT&T in the midst of spinning off its video assets into a separate DirecTV firm, there’s a good chance the service will be renamed DirecTV Stream. While it does not seem that much will change with AT&T TV’s live TV plans, other aspects of a subscription, such as device compatibility and features, may begin to align ahead of that eventual transition.

Fans of the 2D RPG Child of Light who have been waiting for a new installment in the series should rejoice, as Creative Director Patrick Plourde has announced that a new game is in development.
Plourde called the title “Aurora and Igniculus’ next big adventure,” but said it won’t be a sequel to Child of Light. A separate developer, it seems, will be involved in the project.
“This time, it’s for real. However, it is not CoL 2. We aren’t the creators, either “Plourde expressed himself on Twitter. “Aurora’s narrative will be continued when she crosses (sic!) the Mirror at the conclusion of CoL in a crossover game. It’s a lot of fun, unexpected, and built by developers who are fans of the IP.”
Plourde stated in a follow-up tweet that Child of Light 2 was written but never greenlit.
While the fact that a full-fledged sequel is still in the works is certain to upset some fans, seeing Child of Light return after more than seven years is bound to satisfy many admirers of the original.
“Early next year,” we’ll discover more about what this “crossover game” is. If waiting until then is too much for you, or you haven’t played the original, you can save 70% on it during the Steam Autumn Sale 2021, bringing the price down to £3.74$4.49/4,49€.
We commended 2014’s game in our review for its “beautiful vistas, character, and adversary designs,” which, along with its meaningful plot, made persevering through its more monotonous parts well worth it.
If you’ve already played with Aurora and Igniculus and want a break from the AAA releases that generally flood the last few months of each year, our selection of the finest independent games should have something for you.

- Peyton Manning is a quarterback who has won many Super Bowls, who grew up a New Orleans Saints supporter, has said that he no longer supports the team.
- Archie Peyton, Peyton’s father, was the Saints’ starting quarterback for nearly a decade.
- In Super Bowl 44, the five-time NFL MVP memorably battled with the Saints, and he’s still bitter about it.
In a parallel world, Peyton Manning, the legendary Indianapolis Colts quarterback, may have spent his post-Thanksgiving feast rooting for the New Orleans Saints. We don’t believe we’re a part of that universe, at least not yet.
Manning grew up cheering for the Saints before becoming a five-time NFL MVP and two-time Super Bowl winner. If his choice of club seems odd, keep in mind that his father, Archie, was the starting quarterback for the hapless Saints for 11 seasons and earned two Pro Bowls.
So, what caused Manning to sever his ties? It all began with a single night in Miami…
Peyton Manning understood when it was time to lay his New Orleans Saints fanaticism to rest.

When ESPN revealed that Eli and Peyton Manning would join up on Monday Night Football, fans were ecstatic. Even the Worldwide Leader wouldn’t have anticipated it would become so popular so fast with Peyton and Eli. When it comes to exposing some intriguing personal information and exchanging jabs over head size, the brothers’ natural connection shows through every time they’re on.
The issue of Peyton’s old Saints love came up in discussion during the Nov. 22 show. We say “former” because, according to Eli, his elder brother no longer supports the 2009 NFC champs.
“You grew up a Saints fan and then turned your back on them,” Eli added.
Peyton, who went 3-2 against the Saints in five regular-season games and tossed 14 touchdowns against four interceptions, didn’t refute the report.
“You tend to forsake them after you lose in the Super Bowl to them.”
Peyton Manning
We feel safe stating the older Manning’s choice is fair since we haven’t played in the Super Bowl and will never participate in one.
We can’t say we blame Manning for being a little sore after Super Bowl 44.
Manning finished his career with a 3-3 record against the Saints. As you may have guessed, the additional defeat occurred in Super Bowl 44 on February 7, 2010. In the Colts’ 31-17 defeat, Manning completed 68.8% of his throws for 333 yards, a touchdown, and an interception.
With 3:24 remaining and the Saints on their 31-yard line, the famed gunslinger planned to strike Pro Bowl receiver Reggie Wayne for a first down. The pass was intercepted by Saints cornerback Tracy Porter, who returned it 74 yards for a score, ensuring that the Lombardi Trophy would not be returned to Indianapolis for the second time in four years.
Again, it’s difficult to blame Manning if he stopped cheering for the Saints after that night. As much as he admired star quarterback Drew Brees and head coach Sean Payton, they were the ones who made sure he didn’t win a second championship in a Colts outfit.
Don’t forget that Manning, the No. 1 overall choice in 1998, needed almost a decade to lead the Colts to the Super Bowl. Despite defeating the Chicago Bears in February 2007, he was just one play away from losing the Lombardi Trophy for the second time.
Manning, at the very least, received some retribution less than three years later. The 14-time Pro Bowler then destroyed the Saints’ defense for 305 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions in a 34-14 win on Oct. 28, 2012, in his first season with the Denver Broncos.
Over the previous decade and a half, Manning and the Saints have at least acted professionally.
Peyton Manning has been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame!
It was a pleasure to observe how he represented his hometown, family, and teams during his illustrious career as a local son! pic.twitter.com/4VXBkujCzi

Manning may no longer be a fan of the Saints, and he may not even like them. He has, however, maintained a cordial relationship with the brand and its supporters.
Despite missing the 2011 season due to a neck ailment, he went with the Colts to a road game against the Saints in October of that year. He signed signatures and interacted with the New Orleans fans before his Colts were humiliated, 62-7, on Sunday Night Football, on way to a 2-14 season.
Manning spent a day to the Saints’ training camp for a guest a few months after retiring in 2016. In a statement released by the Saints, neither he nor the club mentioned Super Bowl 44, which may have been a good choice.
The Saints applauded Manning on his Hall of Fame induction earlier this year. He was described by the club as a “native son” with a “great career.” What a touching story. Maybe there’s still hope for this romance.
By the way, there’s still time in the 2021 season for Peyton to wear a Saints jersey on the ManningCast. Perhaps that’s what Eli has in mind for an early Christmas present.
