In celebration of its 10th anniversary, Lights of Hope returns to Paso Robles City Park on Saturday evening with a party for all ages. The event is the largest fundraiser in Paso Robles that provides residents and visitors who are living or visiting from disadvantaged cities an opportunity to see how their dollars can make a difference fighting poverty, hunger and homelessness.
The “Pioneer Days 2021 schedule” is an annual event that takes place in Paso Robles City Park. The event celebrates the history of the city and its pioneers. It features music, food, games, crafts, and more. Read more in detail here: pioneer days 2021 schedule.
Candice Sanders has been appointed to the position of Executive Director of the Cancer Support Community.
Candice Sanders has been named Executive Director of the Cancer Support Community of California Central Coast (CSC-CCC). Sanders is an Ovarian Cancer survivor who formerly worked at CSC-CCC as the Development Director.
CSC-CCC is a non-profit organization that provides free social and emotional support to cancer patients and their families. They provide assistance to the whole family, regardless of cancer stage or recovery.
“I am completely ecstatic. I’m overjoyed to be here. It means a lot to me to be a part of the Cancer Support Community. “It’s a dream come true to be the executive director,” Sanders adds.

Sanders aims to lead CSC-CCC in reaching out to more people in the community, particularly the underprivileged, with the support of their new virtual services.
“I have a lot of things I want to accomplish,” she says. Some of the things I’d want to accomplish, in particular, is raise brand awareness and let people know that we’re here to help.”
Sanders also plans to increase the number of Hispanic programs and make them more accessible.
For the ninth year, the CSC-CCC Lights of Hope fundraiser will be held at Downtown City Park. COVID regulations forced the cancellation of last year’s Lights of Hope event.
“This year, we’re thrilled to be able to come together to help our community by lighting up the trees in downtown City Park, and those lights will shine throughout winter,” Sanders adds.
The Paso Robles City Park trees will be lighted for Lights of Hope on Friday, Nov. 26 in honor of people touched by cancer.
To start off the Christmas season, the City of Paso Robles joins with CSC-CCC to light up the Downtown City Park trees. The Cancer Support Community sponsors the lights as a fundraising opportunity to support their aim of “ensuring that no one fights cancer alone.”
This Christmas season, CSC-CCC is searching for sponsors to help light the trees. Members of the community may donate a tree, branch, limb, or bulb in honor of cancer patients, survivors, and those who have died from cancer, while also highlighting the CSC-CCC mission and providing a festive atmosphere for our local community during the holidays.
“We’re hoping to have a lot of people come out and help us raise awareness about our cause so that no one has to confront cancer alone,” Sanders adds.
Lights of Hope will be commemorating its tenth anniversary at the same time as the City’s 35th Annual Downtown Lighting Ceremony.
To kick off the Christmas season, seventeen trees will be illuminated with the support of CSC-CCC. While promoting the purpose of a good cause, families may enjoy hot chocolate, music, caroling, and cookies.
“The lights of hope are not only a means to decorate the City Park for the holidays, but they also serve as a unique and exceptional approach to generate awareness and donations for our program,” Sanders explains.
On Friday, Nov. 26, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., there will be Lights of Hope and the 35th Annual Downtown Lighting Ceremony.
