Is there a New Game Plus for Metroid Dread?
Unfortunately, there is no New Game Plus mode in Metroid Dread. Granted, previous Metroid games didn’t feature New Game Plus, so this isn’t exactly surprising. After the game is defeated, however, there is still more to give. Beating the game on Normal unlocks a Hard Mode, like it has in previous Metroid titles.
What makes you think this is any different? New Game Plus modes, on the other hand, are known to carry over progress. This includes high-level characters, unlocked weaponry, and the acquisition of late-game relics, which provide access to locked-off places much sooner. In this respect, Metroid Dread’s Hard Mode offers you no leeway. You’ll have to restart the game from the beginning, with just your basic weapon and little health. If you thought Normal Mode was difficult, Hard Mode will test your mettle, as both Enemies and Bosses have considerably more health and inflict significantly more damage. It will be beneficial for you to have a thorough understanding of enemy and boss movement and attack patterns. These, thankfully, do not alter as you go through Hard Mode.
Beating Hard Mode comes with its own set of benefits. Hard Mode includes three extra Artwork Rewards that are given in the same way as Normal Mode unlocks up to three Artwork Rewards depending on how quickly you complete the game. In addition, earning the other six unlocks a bonus piece of artwork. Do you think you’ll be able to conquer Metroid Dread in both Normal and Hard Modes in less than four hours? This is what you must do to get all of the Artwork Rewards and the Bonus Artwork.
