To use the character map to copy and paste any symbol, follow the instructions below.

  • By pressing the Start button, look for the Character map app.
  • In the search results, you’ll find the Character Map app. To get started, just click on it.

  • To extend the window for more advanced choices, tick the Advance View checkbox once the Character Map window has opened.

  • On the Advanced View section, type Question Mark inverted in the search box.
  • On the Character map, the symbol you were looking for (the Upside Down Question Mark) will now show. To select it, double-click it. In the Characters to Copy text box, you’ll see the symbol. This enables you to choose and copy many symbols at once.
  • Click the Copy button after choosing the symbol you want to copy.
  • Press Ctrl + V to paste the symbol anywhere you need it, whether in MS Word, Excel, or PowerPoint.
